Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage Day

Cultural heritage in Vietnam is a valuable property of the Vietnamese people and the foundation for national traditions that have formed over many generations. Cultural heritage consists of tangible and intangible cultural heritage  It’s a spiritual and material product of historical, cultural and scientific values which are passed from generation to generation.
 
After Vietnam’s independence in 1945, and on behalf of provisional government of Democratic Republic of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No.65/SL on 23rd November 1945. The decree formally mandates conserving antique vestiges, or what will later be known as cultural heritage. Based on the concept of conservation and to promote tradition and Vietnamese cultural heritage, the Prime Minister approved Decision No.36/2005/QĐ-TTg on 24 January 2005 to officially set 23 November as Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage Day. This is the viewpoint on the important role of cultural heritage in the cause of national construction and development, the inheritance in cultural development, responsibility of the State, society and every citizen in cultural heritage protection.
 
Organizing the Cultural Heritage Day is great significance in enhancing the sense of responsibility and pride of those who work to protect, preserve and promote the values of the National Cultural Heritage, contribute to build and develop Vietnamese culture imbued with nation identity; To promote the labor emulation movement in production, improve discipline, revolutionary morality of civil servants and officials of the Culture - Information in general and of cultural heritage in particular. Besides, propaganda on the Cultural Heritage Day aims to educate the patriotic tradition, the national pride and responsibility to protect the cultural heritage of people. Since then, the Cultural Heritage Day Vietnam November 23rd has really become a great festival, lit the flame of national cultural heritage in the hearts of Vietnamese people.
As a World Heritage Site, an Special National Monument, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park Management Board has planned to respond the Cultural Heritage Day in 2017 with propagating the community, employees, especially educate young people to be aware and responsible for preserving, preserving and promoting these important national heritage values./.
