Implementing the Foreign Affairs Activity Plan of Quang Binh province in 2024, from August 19-23, 2024, members of the Management Board of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park include Mr. Pham Hong Thai – Director of the National Park Management Board and Mr. Hoang Minh Thang – Director of PNKB Tourism Center, that joined the Quang Binh province working group led by Mr. Tran Thang – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, along with leaders of relevant Departments, agencies and branches visited and worked in Yamanashi, Japan.
On the morning of August 20, the delegation of Quang Binh province had a working session with departments and branches of Yamanashi to discuss the implementation of the contents of the MoU which was signed in September 2023, to establish friendly relations and cooperation between the two localities.

Joining the Quang Binh delegation to visit and work in Yamanashi is an opportunity for the National Park Management Board to exchange and learn models of management and conservation of Heritage, especially applying technology in monitoring, preserving and promoting the values of World Heritage Sites. Besides implementing many important activities, including: Information exchange related to tourism policies and environmental conservation, meet and seek media opportunities to promote Phong Nha – Ke Bang, organize tourism promotion conferences and connect with Japanese partners. The delegation also learned from Yamanashi’s experience and proposed plans to link and support the development of tourism services between the two provinces.

Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park (Quang Binh province) and Mount Fuji (Yamanashi province) are both recognized by UNESCO as world heritage sites. With many similarities in natural resources and heritage, the two provinces have agreed on cooperation and support for preserving, promoting and promoting heritage values and share knowledge on developing tourism products that take advantage of world heritage sites.

This is the first business trip of the Park Management Board to work in Yamanashi. This business trip not only contributes to promoting the cooperative relationship between Quang Binh province and Yamanashi province but also opens up many new opportunities for cooperation in potential fields, promoting the socio-economic development of both provinces.
